Bus Bars

Adding electrical accessories to your Tacoma has never been easier. Devices connected to the bus bars operate from the auxiliary battery and will not drain your cranking battery.

  • Three stud sizes accommodate heavy-gauge connections such as winches, stereo amplifiers, fuse boxes, and air compressors.
  • Smaller #10 screws support low-amperage accessory wiring like LED lights.

Boost Switch

  • Auto – Automatically links the batteries based on voltage levels.
  • On – Manually connects the batteries to assist with starting the engine.
  • Off – Manually isolates the batteries.

G Screen Port

Plug in the optional G Screen Monitoring System using a single cable for real-time visibility into your dual battery system.

How It Works

The system uses a smart battery combiner to automatically manage when the batteries connect and disconnect.

  • At engine start, the cranking battery is charged first.
  • Once charged, the combiner links both batteries in parallel so the alternator can charge them together.
  • When system voltage drops below approximately 12.7V for one minute, the batteries separate.

Accessories wired to the bus bars continue to run from the auxiliary battery without draining the cranking battery.

Smart Combiner Specs

  • 300 amps continuous rating.
  • 500 amps for 5 minutes; 2,000 amps for 5 seconds.
  • Requires at least 8 volts to operate.
  • No power consumption when batteries are connected.
  • Generates no heat during operation.

Battery Size Required

Matching Group 34 batteries are required. Note that Group 34R batteries have reversed post orientation and are not compatible. The factory battery is not compatible with this system.

Bus Bar Sizes

  • Three stud sizes: 3/8", 5/16", and 1/4" for high-amperage connections.
  • Three #10 screw terminals for low-amp accessories.

Cable Size

All cables are built using 2ga high-strand-count pure copper welding cable for maximum performance:

  • Superior flexibility compared to standard battery cable.
  • Higher conductivity.
  • Thicker, abrasion-resistant jacket for long-term durability.

The copper lugs are tin-plated for corrosion resistance and sealed with heavy-duty adhesive-lined heat shrink.

Install Time

Most installations can be completed in 2–3 hours using basic hand tools and our step-by-step installation video. Professional installers typically bill two hours of labor on a stock vehicle. Additional time may be required if existing aftermarket wiring must be rerouted or cleaned up.
